My dad, Daniel White, Jr., was born in North Carolina in 1934. From what I understand, there was a difference of opinion about his birth date between my mother and my grandmother. But, my dad apparently leaned more to what my grandmother said his birth date was—1934. His early years were shaped during a pivotal time in history. It Truly Takes a Man to Lead his Family in Prayer

I have said it before, and I will say it again — it is a crime for a man to leave his wife and children in the morning without spending serious time with them in prayer. Sir, the greatest thing that you can do for your family is make it your business to pray with them each day, preferably early in the morning, but any time of the day will work. In the spirit of Nike, “Just Do It!”

I guarantee you that this time of dedicated prayer will be the most difficult thing you will do in your life, and the devil will fight against you on this like nothing else. But this is a fight you must win for the glory of God and for your family. As I Corinthians 16:13 says, “Quit yourself like a man” and lead your family into victorious spiritual warfare! I cannot stress enough that the greatest thing my father ever did for me was staying with our family. That is why I wrote God Has Smiled on Me—to honor my father.  I know that I am stronger and better because of my father’s sacrifice.
