C.S. Lewis said, “A concentrated mind and a sitting body make for better prayer than a kneeling body and a mind half asleep.”

Our prayer motivator verse from the Word of God today is 1 John 5:14 which reads: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.”

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Alexis Carrel. He said, “Prayer is the force as real as terrestrial gravity. As a physician, I have seen men, after all other therapy had failed, lifted out of disease and melancholy by the serene effort of prayer. Only in prayer do we achieve that complete and harmonious assembly of body, mind and spirit which gives the frail human reed its unshakable strength.”

POEM: “Going to Christ” by Frances Ridley Havergal

Our prayer motivator passage from the Word of God today is Jeremiah 42:7-10 which reads: “And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah. Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, And said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, unto whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him; If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you. Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the Lord: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.”

Our featured prayer motivator quote is from Mark Link. He said, “Keep your prayer simple. Whatever confuses or complicates prayer is probably best forgotten.”

My personal encouragement for you today is this: There is great power through prayer to God. And there are great benefits from God in prayer. You will find as you trail through life that you will need God, and prayer invites God to work in, through, and for your life. Continue Reading…
