When Prayer Becomes a Mere Habit

E. M. Bounds

It is necessary to iterate and reiterate that prayer, as a mere habit, as a performance gone through by routine or in a professional way, is a dead and rotten thing.

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear.
– Psalm 10:17

Prayer Starter Prompt (PSP)
Holy Father God, help me never to get tired of talking to You. Deliver me from only praying when I feel like it or when circumstances are beyond my control. Thank You, Lord, that Your ears are always open, ready and willing to hear me when I call. Help me to be humble and to trust You in everything. In the precious name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
